Every minute, 20 people are displaced from their homes, meaning 1,200 people every hour of the day, according to the UN refugee agency. Last year, there were 65.6 million forcibly displaced people in the world; more than 22 million of them were refugees at the end of 2016. This is the highest number since records started.
